I would like to notify everyone that I simply no longer have the stamina required to critique all incoming entries, and since it is such a major part of the game and essential for getting new apps in, I will have to close. I tried my best on this, and I have no regrets about this project. You guys are all awesome and I wish you luck in the future.

I know my time zone is uneasy to fit with the others but I am a chronic insomniac and I am very often online late at night, which I guess is after dinner in Eastern Us. So let me know when you are online and I'll try to be too.
Also I'd like to pick up June's baby dad if Nat didn't found someone yet and if it is still possible, as I've understood that no more originals are allowed with the new premades.
Now sadly I am going back to work, boring and urgent stuff to do this morning.

I'm really sorry to be confusing to everyone, but I've made some new changes... again. I know, I know, feel free to throw things at me, scream, etc.

It had come to my attention that perhaps the critiques system was a little too intimidating. I think that people will like a little more confidentiality better, and we will get more people to play with us. Since there wasn't really any precedence I knew of to guide me during its creation, it was bound to go through a few bumps and snags before coming to its final form. I'm confident in saying that final form is here.

So what's been changed? First of all, critiques are no longer open to be given by all members. You must join the Critique Board detailed in the rules page in the mod journal. Ugh, more work, huh? Not really, I hope~ There is an application to join, but everyone who is present and has done at least one critique is eligible to simply comment to this post to let me know you're interested, instead of applying. I've already seen you critique, no need to make you do it again. The only thing that will change for you is in how critiques are done. Here are the details:

To make people more comfortable, starting as soon as the last critique on the bios comm has been accepted, critiques will now be confidential. Players will make a character journal and post to a submission page with screened comments. Then, I will post a friends-filtered link to the biography in the mod journal. Only people who are approved to critique will be able to see it. You follow the link to the bio, read it and give your accept/edit critique (note the change in language ^^ Nobody liked the word "reject") in a comment there. It's all good.

Critiques are still voluntary for everyone on the board. Don't wanna? Don't! :D The board is simply a measure to reassure players that I know you all are awesome at what you do (and you are). This will hopefully lead to more people feeling comfortable with playing here and taking up all of your awesome wanted lines. ♥

So what's going to happen to the bios comm? Nothing, really. Final biographies will still be posted there for everyone's easy reading. No need to baleete it from your journal just yet.

A couple more small changes: There will be new premades! Look for them if you want some new characters.

Because there'll be even more premades, originals will no longer be accepted. I really want people to give the prompts a try and everyone is doing wonderfully with them.

There will be a new taken characters page. This will not be a big deal, just a place to consolidate the list of characters that are taken so they can be found at a glance.

I'll leave this sit for one week. I have all of the old documents saved just in case this is extremely unpopular. If this sounds like a pain in the ass, tell me! I want to hear you. :D

♠ Let me know which journal you want to do your critiques with.

Hello everyone! There has been a small rules update today, to help streamline the critiquing process. From here on, all comments to the biographies from critiquers will be screened until the final day of review. This was decided for a couple of reasons:

♠ For the security of critiquers, so you can say everything you want to.

♠ For the security of the critiqued, so that I can catch any mistakes that may accidentally happen.

♠ To emphasize the idea of multiple perspectives. If the critiqued reads them all at once they may be able to gather more than if they work on editing from one critique at a time as they come in.

This has also affected the rudeness policy. If, by chance, I see a critique that I don't think suits my standards of politeness, I will delete it before unscreening. This shouldn't be a common event, as everyone has been a wonderful critiquer. ^_^ If you do find yourself deleted for some reason though, feel free to talk to me about it.

So, how about them finals? That was the crappiest crap week I ever went through, I tell you what. Sorry for all the delays on the stuff that needed to get done around here. Real life really got me and I ended up in a struggle for one of my classes. I got into an issue with one of the finals and I lost. ._. Now I have to take the damn thing over again, and I was really devastated because I'm a dean's list kid. I had to take a day to just... cry into some ice cream.

Anyway, with all that mess over, I'm going to have to lean on you just slightly for the administrative stuff. I'm current on all the pending biographies and I'm going to take care of the dead holds and all that, but if there is anything I forgot to do please let me know. Also, if you just want to scream at me for being gone, do that too, haha.

On a final note, WE ARE OPEN AND WHO THE HECK WANTS TO SCENE AND/OR PLOT? :DDDDDDDDDDDDD I wanna scene soooo bad, I need the stress relief. Somebody pounce me, or I'll be pouncing people when I see them.

EDIT: All old holds have been removed. I do delete them right when they expire, so keep on the look-out! If you want them back, go comment on the revamped holds page!

Sorry if it seems like I dropped off the earth (if anyone even noticed I was gone lol), but my internet got shut off by mistake for the last couple days. I should have my second version of the cop application done later tonight.

All expired holds have been removed. Holds are now open to everyone for them. Don't forget that you can use your extensions if you need more time, and ask questions here in the ooc if you're stuck!

A lovely important thing: I made an executive decision (okay really more of a "wanna make characters" decision) and have upped the limit on how many characters each person can have. The absolute max now is 10, one male and one female from each class in the game. After 3 months you will receive your wildcard character which you can do anything you want with without having to go through the bio process if you don't want to.

I'm finally moved in now, and fixing all of the administrative things. Unfortunately, I noticed a problem. The wanted page was attacked by the IJ comment-eat worm. :/ What a pain, no? If it makes you feel more secure that your hold was accepted, please feel free to email me after commenting. I keep all of the email notifications from Ij anyways. I think I got everyone's holds, but if I missed anyone feel free to comment here or email me.

On that note, a couple of holds have expired and since I don't know who you are anymore from the bug, if you do not respond to THIS POST or by email within 24 hours, your hold will be removed. In the meantime, ANYONE who sees those holds may take them now without the other person coming back.

I'm moving this weekend, blaaaaah. I will have my phone with me for email and AIM type uses and can comment on IJ, but I can't edit my journal pages. So if you put down a new hold and it doesn't show up on the page, please don't worry about it. If any confusion does happen I will sort it out as soon as I get back.

Due to recent questions I have updated the rules to include a section about challenges.

The final decision is that challenges are not technically allowed, but I have offered several options for people who find that a premade they want is already held. Here's the breakdown:

♠ I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you email me about the premade, so that we can discuss together with the other player your concepts and who should have the premade, and who should apply as an original. This does not mean holders will lose their concepts or should rush through the biography process. More likely, working together will net you a cool plot and a storyline with someone who loves the idea as much as you do. :D

♠ Or, you can create an original concept off the bat that has the same job/whatever appealed to you as the premade, but is otherwise different. You can make a character different from the premade by gender, class, personality, skill level, or etc. Rivals and business partners are really cool ideas also.

♠ If you really, really want the premade, you can just wait to see if the original holder drops their hold or expires, or is rejected from the bio process. If they are, you can be next in line to take it.

There are no challenges on PBs alone. There are so many great places for finding PBs, I encourage you to explore Hollow Art and pb_updates to find similar or even better options!

Hey all, I've been calculating out the holds list and I've come to this conclusion: We have more than enough holds that we can open next Friday the 24th. How does that sound to everyone? Want to suggest an alternative date? Throw me a comment!

Second order of business: What would you guys like to start with? I've started rps with big events in the past and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'd really like to know what you guys would find more exciting.

I can create an event and we can thread together on it casually as a way to start. Or,

We can just start going at it in AIM and personal/intro threads and let our characters work out their own events.

Comment me your opinions. They count! Even those of you who are just working on holds right now, don't be shy!
